New HTCIA Website!

We felt is was about time to update the Atlantic Canada HTCIA website. We do hope that everyone likes the new layout. We will be updating the site frequently with new IT security related information. Coming soon will be a special "members-only" portal providing access to an Atlantic Canada e-mail list, an online forum and access to member submitted documents, tools, etc. Check back soon! Our Next Chapter Meeting

Our next chapter meeting will be held tentatively on August 12th, 2008 at the usual locations (i.e. RCMP detachments). We urge all our members to attend and bring a prospective member! 2008 HTCIA Conference!

The Atlantic Canada chapter of the HTCIA is holding their 6th Annual conference with a focus on IT security and investigations. This year hjoin us in Fredericton, NB.

Joint CSI/FBI Survey on Computer Security

The Computer Crime and Security Survey is conducted by CSI annually. The aim of this effort is to raise the level of security awareness, as well as help determine the scope of computer crime in the United States. This is a great document that shows "real world" response to what companies, government and non-profits are doing to mitigate the risk of security issues. The 2007 survey (2008 soon to be released) can be downloaded from here.
