New HTCIA Website!
We felt is was about time to update the Atlantic Canada HTCIA website. We do hope that everyone likes the new layout. We will be updating the site frequently with new IT security related information. Coming soon will be
a special "members-only" portal providing access to an Atlantic Canada e-mail list, an online forum and access to member submitted documents, tools, etc. Check back soon! Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions by
sending an e-mail to info@atl-htcia.org
Our Next Chapter Meeting
Our next chapter meeting will be held tentatively on October 27th, 2008 at the usual locations (i.e. RCMP detachments). We urge all our members to attend and bring a prospective member!
We will announce the presentations for this meeting shortly. You can visit our chapter calendar for more information on upcoming events.
We will be also delivering this
meeting via WebEx for those of you who cannot attend in person. We will be e-mailing members a few days before the meeting with connection details.
2008 HTCIA Conference!
The 2008 conference in Fredericton, NB is over and was a great success. We would like to thank all our sponsors, speakers, committee organizers, and especially our attendees for helping the HTCIA present this conference.
We are in the process of preparing the presentations for you to download on the HTCIA website. We will contact attendees when this content is available.
Joint CSI/FBI Survey on Computer Security

The Computer Crime and Security Survey is conducted by CSI annually. The aim of this effort is to raise the level of security awareness, as well as help determine the scope of computer crime in the United States. This
is a great document that shows "real world" response to what companies, government and non-profits are doing to mitigate the risk of security issues. The 2007 survey (2008 soon to be released) can be
downloaded from here.
Also available, is the CSI webcast hosted by CSI Director Robert Richardson.
